Egypt
Egypt lies in the north-eastern corner of Africa, a major crossroads between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and west and south Asia. Egypt borders Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, and the Gaza Strip, Israel and Jordan to the east. To the north is the Mediterranian Sea. It is the second-most populous country on the African continent, with an estimated 78 million people. Egypt is probably the world's oldest civilization having emerged from the Nile Valley around 3,100 BC, historically, and is famous for some of the world's most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramid complex and the Great Sphinx. But Egypt is much more than Pyramids and monuments. Today tourism other than sightseeing around the archaeological sites is booming. Resorts on the Red Sea are attracting hundreds of thousands of people from around the world for aquatic sports like windsurfing, sailing, deep-sea fishing, swimming, and above all snorkeling and diving.
