South Africa

The Republic of South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of the African continent. It is widely regarded as the most socially and economically developed country on the African continent. It borders Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland, and Lesotho, an independent enclave surrounded by South African territory. South Africa is a middle-income country with an abundant supply of resources, well-developed financial, legal, communications, energy, and transport sectors and a modern infrastructure. Tourism is a major income producer for the country and the road and air transport systems are excellent. Accomodation is offered at all price levels and many restaurants and shops are as good as anywhere you can find in the world. Medical facilities are the best on the African continent. Crime is a major concern and one should always be vigilant, particularly in cities and some isolated country locations.
