Europe has the best air connections with Zambia. British Airways, KLM and Air France all have regular services to Lusaka. African carriers flying to the capital include Air Zimbabwe, Ethiopian Airways, Kenya Airways and South African Airways. There is a good air charter service in Zambia, with a number of charter companies opperating out of Lusaka. Car hire is available in Lusaka, Livingstone and Ndola. Driving on Zambian roads can be hazardous. While main roads in Lusaka are maintained, many secondary roads are in poor repair. Potholes on all main roads can be a danger to anyone travelling at speed. As these can reduce you to a walking pace in some places, allow extra time when travelling.
