Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It borders South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east. Tourist facilities are available in Victoria Falls, Great Zimbabwe, major cities, and selected game parks. Harari is the Capital City and English the official language. If you are going to travel to Zimbabwe, then we would recommend you use caution. There is political and civil unrest, extremely high inflation (currently running at over 10,000% per annum) travel problems, with petrol virtually unobtainable, and a high crime rate, mainly due to the unemployment rate currently being at over 80%. It is estimated that over 3000 people a day are leaving the country to illegally go to South Africa, and extreme caution should be taken near the Limpopo River border area.

Number of species recorded to date in Zimbabwe: 693

Number of endemics: 0
