Morocco

Morocco is a country in north Africa, bordered by Algeria to the east, Mauritania to the south and Spain and Gibraltar (across the Strait of Gibraltar) to the north. The Atlantic Ocean is to the west. Most of the population lives north and west of the Atlas mountains, a range that insulates the country from the Sahara Desert, an area which is generally sparsely populated and unproductive economically. Morocco's capital city is Rabat and its largest city, and center of commerce, is its main port, Casablanca. Marrakech is the most popular tourist destination and Fez is the cultural and religious center. The official language is Arabic, but French is widely spoken.
